Fun Times in The Lake District

Hiking in the Lake District is one of my favourite things to do, although I found that if I don’t train it becomes a painful experience on the poor legs.

Hiking is a powerful cardio workout that can: Lower your risk of heart disease. Improve your blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Boost bone density, since walking is a weight-bearing exercise. Build strength in your glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, and the muscles in your hips and lower legs. Strengthen your core.

If you haven’t hiked before, now is a better time than ever to start. It’s one of the safer activities to do during the pandemic, and many governments are actually recommending hiking as a way to cope with the stress of everything going on. At the end of this post, I’ve included some tips on how you can get started hiking!
